I despise when students guess at the answer to make me happy. I’d much rather them say “I don’t know.” or even better “It might be…. because….” However, kids don’t do this unless they are trained to do so. So, I always used this poster to help them understand that “knowing” something means you understand why – and if you don’t know it, that’s okay, but don’t pretend you do.
