Cover some Common Core math at the same time incorporating a bit of science, with this awesome-looking Life Cycle of a Pumpkin Craftivity.
Students will enjoy reviewing shapes as they learn the life cycle of a pumpkin.
The front of the pumpkin reviews all of the basic 2D shapes, including the hexagon, as students design their Jack-O-Lantern. (K.G.2)
The back of the pumpkin converts into a pie and is divided into quarters and shows the life cycle.
I’ve included 2 simple fraction worksheets. Students partition circles and rectangles into two and four equal shares,
describing the shares using the words halves, fourths & quarters. (1.G.3)
When completed, this “craftivity” makes a terrific hallway display suspended from the ceiling!
