Do you have a gingerbread theme for December? It’s one of my favorites. As an alternative to making messy gingerbread houses with graham crackers, I came up with a “gingerbag” house.
They are made using inexpensive lunch bags that you can buy in a pack at The Dollar Store.
Children color, cut and glue a variety of clip art choices to a brown
paper bag. Lightly stuff with tissue to make this 3D. Add puffy paint, glitter glue, stickers and a
child’s photo in the window for plenty of pizzazz.
Completed projects make an adorable 3D bulletin board. I’ve included a cute page for writing practice, where children describe
the house that they “built”. Encourage older students to use plenty of
adjectives that involve the 5 senses.
