I always make a few ornaments with my Y5’s, but still try to cover some sort of standard while they are having fun making something.
This fingerprint Christmas tree ornament, is a terrific way to review the concept of +1 more and counting to 10, all while producing a lovely keepsake ornament!
If you don’t care about the math part, allow students to fill up the entire tree with their fingerprints. So that they don’t create a big green blob, remind them to make rows.
I’ve included a poem for the
back. This is a quick & easy craftivity perfect for party day. I set it up as an independent center on 2 TV trays. One holds the supplies, the other is their work station. Easy-peasy.
