This mitten-themed emergent reader, is a quick, easy and fun way to have students practice simple writing skills and end punctuation. (Special note: The verb “are” has been corrected to “is”.)
The packet includes a completed sample to share with your students to help explain what you want them to do, or if you have time, make one up of your own.
For that finishing touch, glue a school photo to the center of the snowflake. Completed projects make an adorable winter bulletin board.
Scatter the mittens on a background of blue snowflake wrapping paper, with paper cut out snowflakes or white doilies for a border.
I’ve also included 2 graphs, a tally time worksheet, as well as two other math worksheets that you can do as a whole group, or break students into small groups and have them figure out the answers.
