I enjoy reading aloud Rick Riordan’s The Lightning Thief to my students. I have several organizers to help students think about the most important events and create a summary. One of their favorite assignments is the story board shown below.
I encourage students to write the beginning and endings in the first and last boxes. Then, they have to choose two important events to put in the middle boxes. Additional copies of this page may be made for a student to create a graphic novel.
