November 8th is almost here! I love using math challenges as math warmup group work, for a challenging math center, or as fast finishers for students who need a challenge.
Head on over to my blog pick up a free math brainteaser and electoral map for the 2016 election. It includes teacher notes with a link to my favorite interactive electoral map site, a math challenge titled Race to 270 where students are asked to find combinations of states that a presidential candidate would need to win to earn exactly 270 electoral votes, and an answer key so you don’t have to think too hard about it (election time is stressful after all).

This is geared toward 2nd-4th graders, but the electoral map can be used in any grade. Hooray!
Hope you enjoy and vote, vote, vote!
