Have you started your countdown to summer? Have you had time to plan a few activities for those final days? Are you making a memory book?
If yes, you may be interested in my “A-B-C Ya!” farewell poem.
I found a similar one online being quoted in a variety of places, all
with an unknown author.
I revamped the beginning, then changed the verses for 19
letters (H through Z) then tweaked the various stanzas making options for preschool, kindergarten and 1st grade.
This is something you can read to your students on the last day of school, or tuck into their backpacks, or include in a summer packet
that you’re making to send home.
Since I’ve included colorful templates, as well as patterns in black & white, this also provides a fun time-filler; have students color their copy, and then put it in their memory books.
