Dedicate a time each day to read aloud a chapter book to the class.
Our favorite time was after recess as was a time to doodle, decompress, and just listen it drew our focus back to class and time to work.
Another idea to introduce books is to dedicate a day like “First Chapter Friday” and on Friday the teacher reads just the first chapter of a new book then back to regular read aloud.
It brings up student engagement and gets them excited for other books in your classroom library!
