March is the perfect time to talk about plants and a fun way to do that is to plant “leprechaun hair.” I would have my firsties save their milk cartons from lunch for a couple of days. Then I would wash those out and get them ready for the leprechaun hair. We would draw small leprechaun faces and glue them onto the milk cartons, but we made the leprechauns bald. Next we would add the soil and grass seed. Then we would water the “hair” and put the leprechauns in the window. They loved watching their leprechaun friends grow hair.
