Common Core Writing: Using Transitional Words

Using transitions in writing is essential for cohesion and is emphasized in the Common Core State Standards. But not all transitional words will work for any type of paper. Therefore, I organized common transitions by the type of writing in which they should be used. I put my lists into visual aids for my students and am sharing them with you in my free download on Teachers Pay Teachers:

Anchor Charts for Using Transitions in Writing – Common Core Aligned

All charts are offered in color and black and white (to save ink) AND in differentiated formats for upper-level and lower-level learners.
