Are you looking for a quick way to have your classroom look cohesive and still be functional?
I find that having a simple classroom theme, like a few different colors, helps your classroom look spiffy yet not too hard on the eyes or cluttered looking. In my classroom you will find solid colored boards with simple borders, and the only displayed items are things we are actually working on.
Great, but doesn’t that cost a lot of $$ ?
Not if you are smart with your shopping and find items that you can use over and over again. For me, I spent money on fabric for my bulletin boards 5 years ago and I am still using the same fabric today. If something gets splashed on it (you all know this happens when there are kids involved) all I do is take it down and wash it. Using fabric on my bulletin boards has had the greatest decor impact, along with matching labels for everything.
