My Model for Converting Fractions to Decimals

All Freebies

I was looking for another model to teach students how to plot decimals and fractions on a number line.  On Pinterest I saw where teachers used clothes pins on a paint stirrer, and it occurred to me that I had a class set of models already in my class: meter sticks.

Once I taught my lesson, I kept the clothespins in a bag as a math station.  They have decimals on the front and the corresponding fraction on the back. Students worked individually and in pairs to put all the clothespins in order and then they brought them over to me to check.
