I want to share a “Getting to Know You” activity I use with my ESL students during the first week of school. I use this with high school students, but it can be used with middle schoolers, too. This activity is a fun and comfortable way for your students to tell you about themselves. It looks great when it is colored, too!
After they fill it in and color it (if they choose), I keep these all year long so I can refer to them when I need to. I include some questions that help get to know my students better as well as understand their living situations.
Some of the questions included –
“Do you have a job?”
“Who do you live with?”
“I am good at …..” and “I need some help with…”
“After I graduate, I want…”
As a teacher, I also like to see who my artists are, who the creative students are and who puts lots (or little) effort into their work.
Check it out here on my blog!
Thanks for looking!
