Lab: Use of Lab Equipment and Data Analysis Skills

9-12· All Freebies

It is the beginning of the school year, and you are starting out with a brand new set of students.  If you teach science, these students are coming to you with a variety of backgrounds and skill levels.

Before getting down to the business of teaching new content, I always give my students a refresher on using basic pieces of lab equipment.  This is the first lab I do every school year.  Students will move through stations that involve the balance, the meter stick, the graduated cylinder, the thermometer, and lab safety.

This lab is suitable for students in grades 6 and up.  Handouts are easily editable to meet the needs of your particular class.  Enjoy!
