After you have taught the basic concepts of osmosis and diffusion, take it one step further with this lab that determines how the concentration gradient affects the rate of diffusion.

 The materials list is so simple.  This lab can be done at home with household items.  The free download includes student handouts and detailed teacher instructions.

The lab also has a graphing component which makes this a perfect activity for reviewing concepts and skills for end of course tests.
